Tue, November 27, 2007 - 7:15 PMMy friend went and had the 200 dollar VIP tickets and said it was totally worth it. She said the show was incredible. Of course it was. It's Cirque. : ) I can't afford it but hopefully eventually they will put KA and O and Zumanity and Kooza on dvd too so I can eventually see them too. I have 14 of their dvds but have only seen Varekai live. I've probably said that about 20 times on this tribe so sorry if I'm redundant. lol I just LOVE the Cirque. They are some of the most fascinating performers on the planet in my opinion. -

Tue, January 8, 2008 - 8:48 PMKA, "O" and Zumanity won't be on DVDs at any time soon, but there are documentary DVDs for "O" and Mystere.
I highly recommend "Flow" for "O". However, I feel that you need to see the show live before watching this documentary . It gives away a lot of spoilers.
As far as KA goes, it was on German television a while ago. Of course, it's not an actual show. It's more like another documentary from backstage during the show. Personally, I think the backstage footage is MUCH better than the show itself! I'm not sure if the video is still up. Mon, January 7, 2008 - 11:09 PMI saw it the other night! It was very good. You definitely don't need the expensive tickets to enjoy the hell out of this show (although even the not-expensive tickets are pretty expensive).
Fantastic performances all around, and they really got fancy with the set this time. Characters weren't as sympathetic as in Quidam or Varekai but the feel of their performance was a lot more boisterous, there was also a certain edgy, in-your-face attitude present throughout the show that was an interesting angle.
I basically made embarrassing awestruck noises the whole time.

Wed, March 12, 2008 - 3:34 PMI wasn't able to go back in December and was bummed as I've seen every show except the Vegas shows since back in the 80's. On a whim I decided to check out and see if there were any seats left for the San Jose shows and I lucked into a single seat, dead center in the 2nd row for this Sat at 4P. I think their run there ends on Sunday so I just made it. Can't wait! -
