In 2002 I was lucky enough to score free front row seats to Dralion. There was a bellydancer in the show, and she had a beautiful green costume. Does anyone have any idea who she is?

Re: Bellydancer from Dralion
Thu, January 4, 2007 - 9:45 PMHi Katherine!
I believe you may be referring to the character, Oceane (Goddess of Water) who wore green (a fab fusion of classical Indian dance & costuming with a headdress to die for). She was my favorite costuming wise in the whole show. Here's a link below to the Cirque website.

Dralion is about my favorite Cirque show, from talent & music to costumes to everything!
From my Dralion program (yes I do keep them handy), the character of Oceane was played by Sheetal Gandhi from the US.
The photo in the link above shows the costume without the headdress, but the video link on their website, briefly shows the full headdress on her. I hope this helps!
Here's some other links for info on Sheetal who also teaches Pilates & performed on Broadway in Bombay Dreams:

You can also join the Cirque Tribe too! cirque.tribe.net/ - ooh, I just saw you posted there too! I'll put this reply there as well.

I'm not sure it's bellydance
Fri, January 5, 2007 - 5:04 AMI haven't seen Dralion yet, but according to her bio, I do not believe Sheetal Ghandi is a bellydancer (which is a western name for a middle eastern dance form). Her training is primarily in the dance of Ghana and in Kathak which is a North Indian classical dance form. Kathak is a storytelling dance in which the dancer frequently plays characters-- often gods and goddesses. -
